I guess to start and gain a brief glimpse into myself as a tattoo artist one must consider my background. Not formally trained in any type of art I’ve always just been motivated to strive toward my own improvement of whatever medium I’m currently immersing myself into. Starting as counter help back in 2000 I was allowed to peer into the business/relation side of tattooing for some time before actually gaining an apprenticeship. This gave me a big advantage once I actually was able to pick up a machine and start learning by providing me with the tools to start with an idea and work it towards what a client wants. After a couple of years of learning under Brion Norwalk I was handed over to Monk for final evaluation. Once having approval from him the long journey ahead of me began.

Tattooing is an everyday adventure into both a social and artistic world for me. In the end I hope that once a tattoo is completed the client is both happy with the time spent hanging out in the chair and also the product left on them forever. FOR-EV-ER… Being the finality that a tattoo is I appreciate every moment I can that I still find myself in a job that by no means can really be classified as a job to me. I am eternally grateful to be in the thick of it, good and bad, complaining and laughing, all the while both lifting and annoying those around me.

I owe a great deal to the people I work with. Most artists don’t find themselves to be instantly put into a situation with such experience and talent to draw from. Still making my path in this industry I find that I have no true specialty. I do enjoy most styles of tattooing but try and keep a broad range of tools at my side in hopes of making a piece of art that a client is not only happy to have tattooed on them but stands the test of time both in a physical sense and in an emotional sense. At the end of the day I like to look happily at what I’ve accomplished, tear it apart, and awake the next day pushing harder to make the next step that will better the work I do. Dry, rinse, repeat…
