My career in tattooing began at the beginning of summer in 1989.  During my last two months of high school I began hanging out at the Toledo Tattoo company whenever I had the chance.  When school was out in June, I was there everyday; watching and learning.  After being offered an apprenticeship, I helped found and anchor Toledo Tattoo's Airport Highway location.  During my early years, I honed my skills while working with and learning from two incredible artists; Tracey Sutton and Professor J.L. Boudreau.  Without their guidance, my work would not be where it's at today.  During those days I also met my good friend and fellow Tattooer Dominic Cooper (aka Gomez).  Although we didn't work together at the same location, we stayed close and compared work and ideas.  In fact, we credit each other with doing our first tattoos on each other.  We continue to work together to this day here at Infinite Art.

In 1990, I met another Tattooer named Miz Jo-D Bones while she worked at Suzanne Fauzer's Creative Tattoo in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She went on to open the Ink For Life Tattoo Studio in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  I was offered a spot on the roster there in 1992.  This was a pivotal time in my relationship with tattooing.  Ink For Life was an ultra creative space that housed artists with a pulse for pushing the envelope.  While working there, my styles changed with the psychedelic and American traditional influences.  At that time I also met Miss Misha, another great Tattooer whose work rounded out the equation at that studio.  I worked with Miz Jo-D and Miss Misha for two years and returned to Toledo Tattoo in 1995.

In 2001, Dominic and I finally had the chance to work together in the same studio.  This was another pivotal time for me.  While working in close quarters we pushed and influenced each other more than ever.  We continued to work at Toledo Tattoo's Airport Highway location until it's demise in 2006.  After having known Brian "Monk" Taylor for many years through the tattoo scene in Toledo, I was offered a spot at Infinite Art along with Dominic.  Working with everyone here has been a refreshing experience for me so far.

Tattooing has become an integral part of life for me and has opened many doors.  It has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of people, and I've made many friends along the way.  Tattooing has challenged me to be a better artist in other mediums as well, along with giving me the freedom to realize my creative vision.  I continue to tattoo on a daily basis, focusing mainly on traditional styles, but I feel super comfortable tattooing anything.  When I started tattooing over 18 years ago, I never thought I'd be where I'm at today.  It's been a wild ride.  Thank you to my family and friends (new and old) for your constant support!  I'd also like to thank my many long term return clients for your loyalty and dedication.  Beep Beer!     -Sailor Woody
